2019 Exemption Reminders
• Effective January 1, 2019, all 1983 model year and older vehicles (more than 35 model years old) are exempt from titling.
•Effective January 1, 2019, all 1998 and older trailer, semi-trailers, travel-trailers, camping trailers, and manufactured homes (more than 20 model years old) are exempt from titling.
• Effective January 1st, 2019, all 2009 model year vehicles are exempt from odometer certification.
• Effective January 1st, 2019, liens shall be considered satisfied for year models 2007 and older with a lien date 2015 (to date) and older. (See rule below)
“Except for liens and security interests listed on certificates of title for travel trailers or vehicles that weigh more than 12,000 pounds gross weight, which shall be satisfied only in conformity with Section 32 -8-64, any lien or security interest shall be considered satisfied and release shall not be required after four years from the date of the security agreement as recorded on the certificate of title for vehicles which are 12 or more mode years old.”
