Disabling Old (ETAPS) Title Webservice
On December 1, 2018, the Alabama Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division, migrated from the Electronic Title Processing System (ETAPS) to the new Alabama Title System (ALTS). The title webservice (API) used by many dealers to interface with the state title system also changed. Dealer Management System (DMS) vendors were notified over one year ago to begin working on the new title webservice. Deadlines for completion of the work were extended multiple times in order to allow DMS vendors to implement the title webservice changes. Effective December 1, 2019, the old ETAPS webservice will be disabled with no further extensions on the deadline for completion of work on the new title webservice. Dealers are strongly encouraged to contact their DMS vendors to ensure that they have implemented the new title service.
