MLI Records Closure
An issue was identified with MLI records in ID, DS and OP statuses failing to suspend properly. Since insurance companies are required to maintain the data necessary to verify insurance status of motor vehicles through the online insurance verification system for a period of at least six months, and due to the burden on licensing officials to verify physical evidence of insurance provided by registrants, all MLI records in DS, ID, and OP older than September 2019 were closed. These closures are noted within the history section of the MLI record with the note “Case closed due to age on request of DOR”.
